Recap: Paris FC romp against Nice

Sinayoko gets off the mark
After a scoreless draw on the road against a promoted Troyes side, Paris FC were looking for more from their second match of the Ligue 1 McDonald's campaign, but they would have to make do without two injured wingers in Jonathan Ikoné and Luca Koleosho. As for the visitors, Les Aiglons were coming off a scoreless draw as well, and had a raft of key absences, including defenders Moïse Bombito and Ali Abdi.
The match's early stages were played at a cautious pace, but that would change on 17 minutes as Paris FC's Ilan Kebbal was brought down in the box, leaving summer signing Lassine Sinayoko to open his team's account from the spot. Sinayoko duly converted and the capital side would take that 1-0 lead into the break.

A confident display
It wouldn't take long for the hosts to build on that lead, either. Six minutes into the second half, Samir Chergui helped his side turn defence into offence, finishing off a fine one-two with Kebbal to make it 2-0 (51'). Midway through the second half, Nice had a fine chance to pull a goal back as substitute Elye Wahi picked out Jonathan Clauss, but the French international was denied by Kevin Trapp (67').
Liam Rosenior's side were agonizingly close to a third on the break (86') through Patrick Zabi, but the teenage midfielder dragged his effort wide. PFC wouldn't have to wait long for a third goal, though, as veteran midfielder Vincent Marchetti sealed the result on 89 minutes, the hosts' press making the difference.
The stat: 37
At the age of 37, Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel became the second-oldest player to make his Ligue 1 McDonald's debut, following on from David Beckham.
