It was another busy matchday in Ligue 2 BKT. We take you through the action as Saint-Étienne continued their romping start and Nantes' struggles continued.
Having failed to earn promotion via the promotion/ relegation play-off against OGC Nice last season, Les Verts are looking to avoid the play-offs entirely this season and they have got off to the perfect start. After a 3-0 win over Sochaux last weekend, they put three past their opponents this weekend, Clermont Foot.
It was the same pair who proved devastating for Ian Cathro's men. Last weekend, Irvin Cardona netted a brace, with Jakob Breum netting the other. Cardona was once again on the scoresheet, making him the current top scorer in Ligue 2 BKT with three goals, whilst Breum also got another. Thierno Ballo got the other for Les Verts, who after two matchdays, top the table in France's second tier. A perfect start to life in France for Scotsman Cathro.
There was a thriller at the Stade Auguste-Delaune II on Friday night when Stade de Reims hosted USL Dunkerque. Les Stadistes are another club who have designs on making their return to Ligue 1 McDonald's this season, but after two games, they remain winless.
They came close here, however. Despite going behind through a goal from Dunkerque's Adrien Lebeau, Reims came storming back. A goal from Ange Martial Tia and a brace from Yaya Fofana put them in complete control of the encounter. Souleymane Keita then halved the deficit with just over 15 minutes of normal time remaining and when Reims' Armel Zohouri was sent off just seconds later, the hosts knew that they were in for a nervy finish.

Les Stadistes would not hold on. Thomas Robinet would slot home a last-gasp penalty in the seventh minute of added time to secure a point for Dunkerque, who remain unbeaten as a result.
Life isn't getting any easier at Nantes. Having been relegated from Ligue 1 McDonald's last season, the Loire-based club are looking to return to the top flight. In order to do so, they re-hired Michel Der Zakarian, but he has endured a tough start to the campaign. After a slender loss on the opening day of the season, there was last-gasp drama against Laval, which leaves Les Canaris pointless and rooted to the bottom of the Ligue 2 BKT table.
After Trévis Dago gave Laval the lead, Herba Guirassy equalised just before half-time. But it was the former who would get the winner deep into injury time, and it was Mathys Houdayer who scored it. First points on the board for Laval.
Anncey, meanwhile, are the only team to join ASSE on six points after two games. It was a simple and controlled victory over Rodez on Friday night, secured thanks to goals from Antoine Larose and Moise Sahi Dion, who is tipped to have a strong season in Ligue 2 BKT.
