Catch up on the latest as the teams of Ligue 1 McDonald's played their final set of preseason friendlies this weekend.

Friday, August 14

The weekend kicked off with three friendlies involving Ligue 1 McDonald's sides, headlined by Olympique de Marseille hosting Atlético Madrid at the Vélodrôme. Despite a fine goal by Igor Paixão, the hosts lost 2-1. Elsewhere on Friday, AS Monaco lost 2-0 to promoted Premier League side Coventry City, while ESTAC Troyes were held by Greek side Panetolikos.

Saturday, August 15

Saturday was a busy day of action, including two all-Ligue 1 McDonald's affairs. Angers edged Paris FC 3-2 in a lively affair thanks to goals by Amine El Ouazzani, Bané Diatta and Ousmane Camara, while Fodé Doucouré scored the match's only goal as Le Havre beat promoted side Le Mans. Heading abroad, Ligue 1 sides were less successful, with Toulouse FC, Stade Rennais and FC Lorient all losing to international opposition. AJ Auxerre would beat Werder Bremen 1-0, though, and LOSC earned a battling draw away to Liverpool.

Sunday, August 16

The weekend wound down with RC Strasbourg making a trip across the English Channel to face Newcastle United in the Visit Malta Cup. After Racing conceded a first-half goal, substitute Gessime Yassine scored almost immediately after coming on, leveling the match on 70 minutes before the Alsatians prevailed on penalties. Also in England, Stade Brestois lost 2-0 to Nottingham Forest.
