Preseason Friendlies: TFC edge Real Sociedad, Lyon lose to Betis and more

Tuesday, July 28:
In the day's only match, Paris FC suffered their first defeat of preseason, losing 1-0 to German second-tier side Greuther Fürth in Germany.
Wednesday, July 29:
Having made a bright start to preseason ahead of next week's Champions League qualifying, Lyon were undone against Real Betis, losing 4-0 in Cadiz despite fielding a strong side.
Thursday, July 30:
Neal Maupay and Igor Paixão both found the net for Olympique de Marseille in a 2-1 win against Nîmes Olympique.
Friday, July 31:
Having been busy in the transfer market of late, Le Havre AC were back in action against Ligue 2 BKT side Stade Lavallois, drawing one-all with a goal from Godson Kyeremeh. Newly promoted Troyes ran riot with a 5-2 win over GOAL FC, while Toulouse FC edged Spanish side 2-1 with goals from Argentine strikers Julián Vignolo and Santiago Hidalgo.
Facing sister club Cercle Brugge, AS Monaco battled back from two goals down, with Aleksandr Golovin and Paris Brunner both finding the back of the net in a two-all draw. Finally, in the day's biggest match, OGC Nice squared off against Italian side Juventus, featuring their former midfielder Khéphren Thuram. While they would lose 2-0, as they have in all of their preseason matches to date, Olivier Pantaloni's side acquitted itself quite well despite defeat.
