Olympique Lyonnais dropped further points in the race for the Champions League places after being held by Le Havre despite a numerical advantage, while Toulouse claimed a dramatic stoppage-time victory in a seven-goal thriller against bottom club Metz on Sunday afternoon.
Le Havre AC held Olympique Lyonnais to a goalless draw at the Stade Océane despite playing more than 30 minutes with ten men.
Paulo Fonseca’s side arrived hoping to end a poor run of results but instead extended their difficult spell, recording a fourth consecutive league match without victory and losing further ground in the battle for third place with Olympique de Marseille.
Both sides created chances in an open first half, with goalkeepers Rémy Descamps and Yehvann Diouf producing several key saves.
The match turned in the 56th minute when Le Havre defender Stéphan Zagadou was sent off for bringing down Endrick as the last defender.
Despite their numerical advantage, Lyon struggled to break down a compact Havre defence. The hosts even came closest to scoring when Sofiane Boufal and Loïc Négo both struck the post.
At the Stade Saint-Symphorien, Toulouse FC secured a dramatic 4–3 victory over FC Metz in one of the most chaotic matches of the Ligue 1 weekend.
Toulouse raced into an early two-goal lead through Aron Dønnum (6’) and Yann Gboho (14’). Metz responded immediately, equalising within a minute thanks to goals from Benjamin Mbala (30’) and Kévin Kouao (31’).
Gboho restored Toulouse’s advantage just before the break (45+3’), seemingly putting the visitors back in control.
Metz thought they had rescued a point when Georges Abuashvili struck in the 88th minute, but deep into stoppage time Jan Thielmann Sauer fired home a last-gasp winner (90+9’) to seal a remarkable victory.
The defeat leaves Metz rooted to the bottom of the table, still six points from the relegation play-off place, while Toulouse move up to 11th and closer to the top half.
