Olympique de Marseille eased into the Coupe de France round of 16 with a commanding 6-0 win away at Bourg-en-Bresse (National). Elsewhere, OGC Nice finally returned to winning ways by edging past Saint-Étienne, while FC Nantes claimed an entertaining 5-3 victory at Concarneau.
Fielding a line-up close to their strongest XI, Olympique de Marseille made light work of Bourg-en-Bresse in the Ain. Leonardo Balerdi opened the scoring early on (8’) before the Ligue 1 side took full control after the break.
As the National outfit tired, Marseille pulled away through Mason Greenwood (59’), Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (64’), Igor Paixão (66’), Bilal Nadir (77’) and teenage substitute Tadjidine Mmadi (87’), sealing a comprehensive victory and safe passage into the last 16.
AS Monaco came out on top in the only all-Ligue 1 tie of the round, winning 2-1 away at Auxerre. Mika Biereth was the decisive figure, scoring twice (8’, 74’) to claim his first goals since February.
Auxerre had drawn level through Assane Dioussé from the penalty spot (29’) and pressed late on, but Monaco held firm to secure qualification.
FC Nantes enjoyed a welcome return to form in Concarneau, winning 5-3 in a wide-open contest. Bahmed Deuff (16’) and Youssef El-Arabi (24’) put the visitors ahead early, before Fabien Centonze (39’) and Matthis Abline, who struck twice (53’, 59’), extended their lead.
Concarneau refused to give up, benefiting from a Nicolas Cozza own goal (19’), a penalty converted by Amadou Samoura (45’) and a late effort from Youssouf Soukouna (74’), but Nantes held on to progress.
OGC Nice brought an end to a run of nine consecutive defeats in all competitions by beating AS Saint-Étienne 2-1 behind closed doors at the Allianz Riviera.
Zoumana Diallo opened the scoring from close range after a Jonathan Clauss cross (11’), before Zuriko Davitashvili equalised from the penalty spot just before half-time (45’). Despite being largely second-best, Nice found the decisive goal through Morgan Sanson (72’), booking their place in the next round.
RC Strasbourg responded to recent Ligue 1 difficulties by overcoming Dunkerque 2-1 at home. Julio Enciso (26’) and Ismaël Doukouré (40’) struck before the break, and although Thomas Robinet reduced the deficit from the spot (53’), Strasbourg saw out the match to advance.
In-form Pavel Sulc scored for the third straight match for the hosts, the Czech winger netting a second-half brace as Lyon shook off a slow start against FC Saint-Cyr Collonges to win 3-0. Brazilian defender Abner had opened the scoring on 53 minutes before Sulc scored twice in the match's final ten minutes to seal Les Gones' progress.
