In the second day of Coupe de France Round of 64 matches, all six Ligue 1 McDonald's secured their places in the next round. Catch up on all the action from across the country with our recap.
AS Le Gosier 0-7 FC Lorient
In a match played in the Parisian suburb of Bondoufle, FC Lorient hammered the Guadeloupean side AS Gosier, with manager Olivier Pantaloni fielding a first-choice side save the players unavailable to him through their AFCON participation. Bamba Dieng netted a 38-minute hat trick for Les Merlus, while Mohamed Bamba scored a brace before English youngster Trevan Sansui, on loan from Newcastle, rounded out the scoring.
ASC Biesheim 0-3 FC Metz
FC Metz also played a strong side, but against a more local opponent. Les Grenats recorded a comfortable away win against fourth-tier ASC Biesheim, with Boubacar Traoré netting twice (9', 46') before youngster Ibou Sané rounded out the scoring just past the hour.
US Lusitanos Saint-Maur 0-1 LOSC Lille
Like most sides on the day, Lille played a strong team, with Olivier Giroud, Benjamin André and Ayyoub Bouaddi all in the eleven for Bruno Génésio. Unlike their top-flight contemporaries, they would struggle quite a bit more against US Lusitanos Saint-Maur. The fourth-tier side had recorded a famous upset of Bordeaux in the 2001/2 edition of the competition, and for much of this match, they hoped to do the same, but a late strike by substitute Marius Broholm (80') was enough to see Lille progress.
Lyon-La Duchère 1-2 Toulouse FC
Toulouse also had a nervy time of things against a side with a history of springing upsets against top-flight sides. Despite taking the lead in the second half thanks to two goals within five minutes by Emersonn and Aron Dønnum, the hosts struck back from the penalty spot and made the match's conclusion a nervy one.
Raon l'Etape 0-3 Paris FC
Paris FC -- who have been struggling mightily in Ligue 1 McDonald's of late with five matches without a win -- shook off their recent malaise thanks to summer signing Jonathan Ikoné. The former France international, who has barely featured in the league, struck a fine hat trick to give his side a convincing win over the fifth-tier Alsatian side.
Fontenay Foot 0-4 Paris Saint-Germain
Gonçalo Ramos netted a second-half brace as a young Paris Saint-Germain team cruised to a comfortable win over fifth-tier Vendée Fontenay Foot. With Luis Enrique playing a rotated side after the capital team's Intercontinental Cup match midweek, several youngsters made their debut but it mattered little as Désiré Doué and Ousmane Dembélé both struck in the first half.
