Paris Saint-Germain can clinch the title with a draw or win against Angers

Well and truly in its final stretch, the 2024/25 Ligue 1 McDonald's continues Matchday 28 tomorrow with a potential title decider, a massive match in the European race and more -- read on for our preview of all of Saturday's action!

Paris Saint-Germain v. Angers SCO, 1700 CET

While Angers have improved since their torrid start to the season, they still have work to do to retain their place in Ligue 1, especially with Nantes having pulled off a shock win over Nice this evening. They're unlikely to get much respite from the Parisians, though. Luis Enrique's side can seal their fourth straight title with a point here, and even with an eye on next week's Champions League clash with Aston Villa, he'll surely field a full-strength side to ensure the title is won in front of their supporters.

Stade Brestois v. AS Monaco, 1900 CET

After a massive win the Côte d'Azur derby last weekend over OGC Nice, the Principality side are in control in the race for the Champions League as they sit second ahead of the weekend's fixtures. Before the international break, they'd broken their poor run on the road against Angers, and with three wins and a draw in their last four matches, Adi Hütter has his side playing as one of the league's form teams.

Despite Brest suffering a bit of a downturn this season compared to last, their 4-2 win over Toulouse FC last weekend showed they're still a dangerous side, though, and Les Monégasques will have their work cut out for them, even if the hosts will be missing several key players.

Olympique Lyonnais v. LOSC Lille, 2105 CET

Were not the the title on the line for PSG, this would easily be the headline match of the weekend. Besides the massive stakes -- both are fighting tooth and nail for a place in Europe next season -- there's also the intrigue of each side's manager having coached the other club. While Paulo Fonseca won't be on the touchline here, owing to his lengthy ban, his team are still one of the most dangerous attacking sides in the league, and with Thiago Almada hitting form, they might be the favorites.

That said, if any team in the league know how to win with grit and determination, it's Bruno Génésio's Lille. The longtime Lyon boss has worked wonders with a mostly young side, making a deep run in the Champions League and having them in the mix for another season in Europe. After a nervy derby win last weekend, they'll need to raise their level for this cross-country trip, but will know that a win here can see them go level on points with Monaco in second place.
