The Atlas Lions completed a dominant win over Central african Republic to extend their lead in AFCON qualifying Group B, aided by a superb quickfire brace scored by AS Monaco's Eliesse Ben Seghir in the first half. The first was a rocketed volley into the back of the net to open the scoring for the future AFCON 2024 hosts, before doubling Morocco's lead only three minutes later with a low finish from the centre of the box (37'). Paris Saint-Germain's Achraf Hakimi played the full 90 minutes and kept a clean sheet whilst Osame Sahraoui of LOSC found himself a spot on the bench.
Spain recorded a dominant 3-0 win over Serbia in the UEFA Nations League where Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Fabian Ruiz provided the assist for Alvaro Morata's goal in the 65th minute against the 10-man visitors. La Roja were without influential teenager Lamine Yamal, who had returned home to Barcelona after an injury scare in their victory over Denmark, but Aymeric Laporte handed the hosts an early lead with a thumping header - before goals from Morata and Alex Baena sealed the victory.
AS Monaco midfielder Maghnes Akliouche assisted Stade Rennais striker Arnaud Kalimuendo but Austria's U21 side would grab the victory at AS Nancy's Stade Marcel Picot. Les Bleuets however qualified for the 2025 U21 European Championships despite the defeat.
The Young Three Lions ended their qualifying campaign for the 2025 European U21 Championship in style as they thumped Azerbaijan. Toulouse FC defender Charlie Cresswell opened the scoring for England in the 2nd minute with a header to set the tone, as England would go on to dominate in the second half.
