France ended this month's FIFA international window with a 2-1 victory over Belgium in UEFA Nations League action on Monday night at King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.
After a convincing 4-1 win over Israel last Thursday, Les Bleus kept their winning ways going against Belgium. In Didier Deschamps' starting XI, Paris Saint-Germain's Bradley Barcola, Randal Kolo Muani, and Ousmane Dembélé were the only two players who are currently in Ligue 1.
Kolo Muani opened the scoring in the 35th minute off a penalty kick, but the home side would respond with a goal from RC Lens standout Loïs Openda to level the scoring 1-1 heading into halftime.
Once the two sides came from the dressing room, it would be the French squad that took the advantage following the goal from Kolo Muani as the PSG star recorded his brace.
The two goals from the 25-year-old were enough to give Deschamps and his team the three points. Following the win, Manu Koné and Mattéo Guendouzi offered praise for the striker.
Koné said: "Randal is Randal. He's a top player, a great striker. He shows what he's capable of here. We need him, and whether it's an assist, a goal, or a penalty, he delivers. I'm really happy for him and hope he keeps improving. He cost me a goal because of a handball, but it was a soft call, and hopefully, next time, it'll stand."
"In my eyes, he's not shy at all. He's very good with the national team. We never doubt him. We need him, and he shows up every game. That's fantastic, and I wish him the best for both his club and the national team."
Guendouzi said: "We're never surprised by what Randal can do for the team. We all trust him completely. We knew he could score tonight, and he did it twice. It's amazing for him."
"We're all backing him, and when a player feels the coach's trust, it boosts their confidence. I think he'll bring a lot to PSG, both in the league and in other competitions. We're thrilled for him, and if he keeps scoring like this, it's all good news."
