RC Strasbourg's Moroccan international has continued his rapid rise in Ligue 1 McDonald’s, enjoying a highly successful start to the season with the Alsatians.

A Ligue 1 first

After scoring his first Ligue 1 McDonald’s goals for Strasbourg against Lens (2-1) in Matchday 2, Gessime Yassine also netted his first-ever professional brace. At 20 years old, the Racing winger is confirming the potential he first displayed at Dunkerque in Ligue 2 BKT, as well as his importance to Hugo Oliveira’s squad, building on having scored his first international goal at this summer's World Cup for the Atlas Lions.

The top dribbler of the early season

The player who logged 510 minutes of top-flight action across 12 appearances last season is now a regular starter for the Alsatian club.

His rising form is perfectly illustrated by the stats. In addition to his two goals against Les Sang et Or, Yassine ranks as the top dribbler in Ligue 1 McDonald’s after two matchdays. After successfully completing four dribbles against OM in the season opener, the Moroccan international repeated the feat against Lens on Saturday, becoming the only player to tally eight successful dribbles (out of 14 attempts).

The Strasbourg winger is also proving highly accurate with his attempts, boasting a 100% record for shots on target (5/5)—including three against Lens—while converting the only big chance that came his way.

With his club having shaken off a difficult start to the season, the sky now seems the limit for Yassine!
