Paris Saint-Germain: A Barça reunion for Torres and more

The two-time holders certainly didn't receive an easy draw -- their fellow pot one matches see them travel to take on Manchester City and host Barcelona, the former club of summer signing Ferran Torres. Other key matches include a reunion with Aston Villa, whom they've recently faced in the UEFA Super Cup and in a thrilling quarterfinal tie in 2024/25, as well as an away match against Cesc Fabregas' upstart Como side.

RC Lens: A kind draw

RC Lens' reward for coming second in last year's Ligue 1 McDonald's season is direct qualification for the league phase, and they'll look to improve on their display in 2023/24, where they finished a point away from progress to the Round of 16. While matches against Liverpool and Manchester City look tricky on paper, both are rebuilding under new managers, and none of their other six matches look particularly challenging, giving Le Sang et Or every chance of advancing to the next stage.

LOSC: A trip north and a familiar face

As for LOSC, last season's third-placed side, Davide Ancelotti and his charges face a challenging but manageable set of fixtures. Their pot 1 matches include a home match with Bayern Munich and a trip to North London to face their former defender, Gabriel Magalhães and his Arsenal side. A trip to face AS Roma also could be tricky, but their away match against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt, the darlings of last year's competition, might be the most-eye catching.
