Jude Bellingham was England's hero once again as the Three Lions edged past Norway 2-1 after extra time to secure a place in the FIFA World Cup semi-finals.

After France and Spain had already booked their places in the final four, England completed the line-up thanks to a dramatic victory in Miami, where Thomas Tuchel's side overcame a resilient Norwegian team inspired by Antonio Nusa, Martin Ødegaard and Erling Haaland.

Bellingham responds before extra-time winner

Norway took a deserved lead in the 36th minute through former Rennes winger Andreas Schjelderup, whose stunning strike flew beyond Jordan Pickford after a lively opening half. England responded just before the break when Bellingham controlled Anthony Gordon's cross before calmly finishing to level the scores.

The second half remained finely balanced. Norway thought they had gone back in front when Leo Østigård? (Actually Heggem) bundled home from close range, only for the goal to be ruled out following a VAR review for a foul by Haaland earlier in the move. Both sides created chances, with Norway striking the crossbar through a deflected effort, but neither could find a winner inside 90 minutes.

Ligue 1 stars fall just short

England eventually found the decisive moment early in extra time. Morgan Rogers' powerful effort was only parried by Ørjan Nyland, allowing Bellingham to pounce on the rebound and complete his brace in the 93rd minute. Norway pushed forward in search of another equaliser, but Pickford and England's defence stood firm to seal a hard-fought victory.

The result ends an impressive tournament for Norway's Ligue 1 contingent. Schjelderup, who spent last season with Rennes, once again showcased his quality, while Lens midfielder Patrick Berg produced another composed display in midfield. However, it is England who progress to the semi-finals, where they will face either Argentina or Switzerland.
