Nantes and Lille ended their respective winless runs in Ligue 1 McDonald's, whilst Nice and Lorient played out a six-goal thriller. We take you through this afternoon's multiplex action.
Going into this one, it was Lorient who were the European hopefuls - albeit an outsider - and Nice who were in a relegation scrap. Many would have had those roles inverted at the start of the season. However, it was the Côte d'Azur side who started the better against Les Merlus, and after Sofiane Diop hit the outside of the post in the 5th minute, they took the lead in the 12th thanks to Tom Louchet, who got on the end of Mohamed-Ali Cho's tantalising cross to the backpost.
Lorient, however, have been the surprise package in Ligue 1 McDonald's, and they looked dangerous, even if they struggled to create clear openings. The best perhaps fell to Théo Le Bris at the back post, but his effort was tepid and didn't trouble Maxime Dupé (22'). Dermane Karim then hit the outside of the post just before half-time, and it looked to be Olivier Pantalonio's side who would go in in the ascendancy (45').
But it was an eventful end to the half as Louchet got his second from close range (45+1'), but the euphoria was dampened when Pablo Pagis curled a free-kick off the inside of the post (45+4').

However, the two-goal lead was re-established just before the hour mark when Kail Boudache turned in the first goal of his career in Ligue 1 McDonald's (59'). As it was in the first half, that moment of comfort was short-lived for Le Gym, as the deficit was brought down to just one goal again, thanks to Bamba Dieng, who netted from the spot (67').
And there would be a late twist. With Les Aiglons tried to cling on but let the three points slip in the final seconds, with Noah Cadiou finishing from a tight angle on the turn to salvage a point for the visitors (90+5'). A fitting end to an entertaining game at the Allianz Riviera.
Lille's winless run came to an end away to Angers. Bruno Genesio was left calling on a reaction from his players after they succumbed to another defeat on Thursday, against Crvena Zvezda in the Europa League.
Les Dogues headed to Angers having not won a single game in Ligue 1 McDonald's in 2026, but that changed thanks to a penalty from Olivier Giroud just on the stroke of half-time (45+2'). That was the only goal in a game that, due to bad weather, was played behind closed doors at the Stade Raymond Kopa.
Like Lille, Nantes too ended a bad run of their own. Ahmed Kantari's last win in any competition dated back to 4th January, when they shocked Marseille at the Vélodrome (0-2). Their five Ligue 1 McDonald's results since all ended in defeats and so Les Canaris were desperate to end that run, especially in light of other teams involved in the relegation battle - Nice and Paris FC - registering points this weekend.
Both goals came in the first half and the first inside the first three minutes, with Yanis Zouaoui turning into his own net. The lead was doubled before half-time, with Igantius Ganago converting from the spot (34'). Les Canaris remain in the relegation zone.
