Strasbourg reached the Coupe de France quarter-finals with a 3–1 win over AS Monaco at the Stade de la Meinau, powered by a Julio Enciso brace and an early goal from Godo.

RC Strasbourg secured their place in the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France with a 3-1 victory over AS Monaco on Thursday evening at the Stade de la Meinau, thanks to goals from Godo and a second-half brace by Julio Enciso.

In an entertaining contest, Strasbourg proved more clinical in front of goal, taking advantage of key moments against a Monaco side that created chances but lacked efficiency.

Strasbourg strike early

After a positive start from Monaco, it was RC Strasbourg Alsace who opened the scoring. Moreira broke down the right before delivering a dangerous cross which Panichelli flicked on for Godo to convert from close range (7’).

Monaco responded with sustained pressure and came close on several occasions, notably through Akliouche and Zakaria, but were denied by an assured performance from goalkeeper Penders.

Enciso decisive after the break

Strasbourg doubled their lead shortly after half-time. Barco carried the ball forward and slipped a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Julio Enciso, who rounded Köhn before finishing calmly (55’).

The visitors hit back almost immediately as Biereth reduced the deficit with a composed finish (58’), raising hopes of a comeback. However, Strasbourg quickly restored their two-goal advantage. A defensive slip from Kehrer allowed Enciso through on goal, and the midfielder delicately chipped Köhn to complete his brace (61’).

Monaco pushed forward in the closing stages and twice struck the crossbar, but Strasbourg defended resolutely to protect their lead and see out the match.

With this victory, Strasbourg advance to the quarter-finals of the Coupe de France, where they will face Stade de Reims. Monaco, meanwhile, exit the competition despite a spirited display.
