The second Paris derby in a week saw visitors Paris FC get revenge against the holders Paris Saint-Germain in. the Round of 32 of the Coupe de France, with Jonathan Ikoné scoring the match's only goal.
Off the back of a fierce comeback in Kuwait in the Trophée des Champions against Olympique de Marseille on Thursday, Paris Saint-Germain were always going to be lacking a little something in this tier. It was thus with one eye on the return of the Champion League next week (and a challenging test against Lille at the weekend) that Luis Enrique played a somewhat rotated side, with Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos, João Neves, Nuno Mendes and Désiré Doué all left on the bench.
But for all of the hosts' absences, Paris FC were without a raft of key players in their own eleven, with Ilan Kebbal only on the bench and Moses Simon and Jean-Philippe Krasso missing due to AFCON. Despite this, Stéphane Gilli's side started the brighter, with Lucas Chevalier being forced into a good save from Alimami Gory early doors (13'). Ten minutes later, it was the turn of Obed Nkambadio to be tested as he kept out successive attempts by Bradley Barcola and Gonçalo Ramos. By the half, Nkambadio had made two more saves, including keeping out Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in added time, but the holders would have nothing to show for their efforts as the match remained scoreless.

Continuing to be imperious in goal, Nkambadio then made three saves in the first fifteen minutes, keeping out Kvaratskhelia, Ramos and Warren Zaïre-Emery. Just past the hour, it was then the turn of Barcola to fire wide, before PSG would pay for their profligacy. After some sloppy play, PSG were caught on the counter, with Kebbal setting up fellow substitute Ikoné, who cleverly finished across goal.
Three minutes before full time, Zaïre-Emery hit the crossbar, but PSG would get no closer, and Paris FC had their first-ever win over their neighbor. Having suffered their first defeat in eight matches, Paris Saint-Germain will now have to rebound against LOSC Lille on Friday before resuming their Champions League campaign away to Sporting Club next Tuesday. As for Paris FC, they'll find out their opponent for the Round of 16 tomorrow, with their next Ligue 1 McDonald's fixture coming this weekend away to FC Nantes.
