Stade Rennais were forced to work hard before overcoming National 2 side Chantilly (1-3).
Evens Joseph put the hosts ahead shortly before half-time, but the match swung following the dismissal of Sambou Yatabaré. Quentin Merlin levelled from a free-kick, before Moussa Al-Tamari and Elias Legendre Quinonez struck in quick succession to secure Rennes’ place in the next round.
In the standout tie of the round, Olympique Lyonnais claimed a notable away win against LOSC Lille (1-2). Afonso Moreira opened the scoring inside the first minute, before Nathan Ngoy equalised for Lille.
