With five players and manager Luis Enrique all honored ahead of tomorrow's Intercontinental Cup, it was a banner evening for defending Ligue 1 McDonald's champions Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday at The Best FIFA Awards.
After helping Paris Saint-Germain win the treble and reach the final of the Club World Cup, Ousmane Dembélé has racked up a raft of individual awards. While the historic Ballon d'Or is the most eye-catching, he was also named the Champions League player of the season, as well as the IFFHS Player of the Year. Now, he's won another major honor, having been named the The Best FIFA Player of the Year.
Ever the humble presence, Dembélé was quick to acknowledge the rest of the capital side in brief remarks at the ceremony, saying, "I want to thank my teammates. Hard work pays off, and it's been a fantastic year for me, both individually and collectively."

As much as Dembélé's victory was little surprise, so too was the honor for coach of the year for Luis Enrique. The Spaniard has revitalized PSG since arriving, shaking of the departures of star players by building a team-first ethos and achieving plenty of success along the way. With tomorrow's match in focus, Enrique didn't appear at the ceremony, but his raft of titles since arriving in the French capital underscores both his dedication and his achievement.

Paris Saint-Germain's historic season meant that Dembélé was one of five players named to The Best FIFA Team of the Year. In addition to the Frenchman, midfielder Vitinha and defenders Nuno Mendes, Willian Pacho and Achraf Hakimi were all honored at the ceremony earlier tonight in Doha, building on strong individual seasons.
