No player has hit the woodwork more than Nantes' Abline this season

After the woodwork was struck 12 times the week before, Ligue 1 McDonald's players were once again unlucky during the 15th matchday, striking the woodwork 10 times. We'll take a look at the 'specialists' in this field.

Le Havre, OM and Paris FC unlucky

Tuomas Ollila wasn not far away from scoring his first Ligue 1 McDonald's goal. But Paris FC's Finnish player was unlucky against Le Havre on Sunday, striking the woodwork on two occasions. On the opposite side, Le Havre's players also struck the woodwork twice, through Ally Samatta and Rassoul Ndiaye.

Whilst they were top of the table, Marseille have been caught up at the top of this standing. Les Phocéens now share their first place for hitting the woodwork with Paris FC and Le Havre, who have all hit the woodwork on eight occasions.

Behind these three, there are five clubs who have struck the woodwork on seven occasions: PSG, Lille, Toulouse, Lorient, and Nantes. At the other end of the standings, Strasbourg have struck the woodwork just twice.

Matthis Abline touches wood

Among players, it is Nantes' Matthis Abline who tops the standings after 15 matchdays. The scorer of two goals this season, the Canari could have had more had he not been unlucky. The striker has struck the woodwork on four occasions. Despite a lack of game time due to two injuries, Désiré Doué has still had the time to strike the woodwork on three occasions. He has one goal in Ligue 1 McDonald's this season. He shares his second place with Toulouse's Aron Donnum, and Le Havre duo Samatta and Issa Soumaré.

Angers and Hervé Koffi lucky

Since the start of the season, Hervé Koffi has been performing miracles in the Angers goal. But as well as being on form, the Burkina Faso goalkeeper has also had luck on his side. Since the start of the season, Angers are the team in Ligue 1 McDonald's who have seen their opponents strike the woodwork the most (10).

On the opposite side of the scale, Marseille and Strasbourg have not been saved by the woodwork often. For both clubs, it has only happened on three occasions during the first 15 matchdays, the least of any other club in Ligue 1 McDonald's.
