Corentin Tolisso celebrates his first goal in Lyon's win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv

Olympique Lyonnais netted six goals to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv to continue their excellent start to their Europa League campaign (6-0), whilst Strasbourg came from behind to beat Crystal Palace in the Europa Conference League (2-1).

Maccabi Tel Aviv 0-6 Lyon

Lyon continued their bid to finish inside the top eight in the Europa League with what was a comfortable win over Maccabi Tel-Aviv in Serbia. Paulo Fonseca's side were quick out of the blocks with Abner opening the scoring (4') within the opening minutes. The lead was then doubled by club captain Corentin Tolisso in the 25th minute. It was a historic goal, too, Les Gones' 500th in European competition.

And then just 10 minutes later, OL netted their third via Moussa Niakhaté, who netted from the spot, Lyon's first penalty goal this season. Fonseca's men were on a rampage and at half-time, led by three goals in a European match for the first time since 2009.

Tolisso continued to wreak havoc. The OL captain has, in part, compensated for the departure of former teammate and friend Alexandre Lacazette by assuming the goal-scoring mantle. He netted his second (50') and then quickly his third (53'). It was the former Bayern Munich man's first hat-trick of his career and the first scored by a Lyon player in European competition since Nabil Fekir back in February 2017.

Adam Karabec then added a sixth (62'), as Lyon became only the second Ligue 1 McDonald's side to net six goals in a Europa League game since February 2017. Lyon didn't add further goals, but their emphatic win means they now sit atop the standings in the Europa League.

Strasbourg 2-1 Crystal Palace

Strasbourg came into this game against Premier League opposition so far unbeaten in this season's Europa Conference League. Liam Rosenior's side rallied at times in the first half and held their own, but they fell behind thanks to an excellently executed goal. Jean-Philippe Mateta drifted across the edge of the RCSA box and then dinked a ball through to Tyrick Mitchell, who, from a tight angle, beat Mike Penders (35'), putting the ball precisely into the far post.

But Le Racing would come back into the game before the hour mark. Diego Moreira got in down the left and put the ball on a plate for captain Emanuel Emegha to tap home (53').

RCSA then rode their luck. Penders was crucial in allowing his side to play out, but it meant that he was often on the edges and sides of his box, and so he was completely out of position when Ismael Doukouré's touch gave Adam Wharton the chance to put into an open net, but thankfully for the Ligue 1 McDonald's side, the England international hit the crossbar, with the goal gaping (60').

Penders was then called on to keep out Yeremy Pino (75') with a save down low to his right. It proved a vital save as just seconds later, Strasbourg then seized control of the game. Julio Enciso struck the crossbar with a free-kick, and then Samir El Mourabet was on hand to tap home the rebound (77').

But thereafter, the better chances fell to Rosenior's side, and whilst they couldn't force a third, they did hold on and currently sit second in the UECL standings, level on points with table-toppers Samsunspor.
