Mason Greenwood's four goals this weekend is just the latest scoring feat in the history of Ligue 1 McDonald's

It's been nearly two years since the last quadruple in Ligue 1 McDonald's -- join us as we trace the history of some of the top scoring performances France's top flight.

34 years AFTER PAPIN

In a madcap 6-2 win over Le Havre that saw Olympique de Marseille go top of the Ligue 1 McDonald's table, Mason Greenwood wrote a new page in the club's long history. Scoring four goals, he became the club's first player to tally as many in a match since the legendary France striker Jean-Pierre Papin did the same in 1991. Following in the footsteps of a true icon of the club was a special achievement indeed, but where does his feat rank among the other 13 players to have scored times in a Ligue 1 match in the current century?

Doumbia: The most recent and the fastest

Dating back to December 2023, Stade Brestois' Kamory Doumbia was the last player to have done so, helping his side defeat bitter rivals Lorient, 4-0. Of course, scoring four goals in a match is rare indeed, but rarer still is the length of time the young attacking midfielder needed to so. Indeed, Doumbia scored all four goals between the 22nd and 45th minute of the match.

Two in one: Lacazette and Wahi trade blows

Back with Lyon and back in Ligue 1 after joining Olympique Lyonnais on a free transfer in the summer of 2022, Alexandre Lacazette was impressive throughout the season, running Kylian Mbappé close for the scoring title. He nearly met his match in the penultimate round of the season, though, as youngster Elye Wahi scored all four of Montpellier's goals to stake La Paillade to a 4-1 lead. Lacazette hit a haul of his own, though, helping his side to a 5-4 win with the last kick of the game.

Ibra SEALS the title against Troyes

There was little doubt who would win the 2015-16 Ligue 1 McDonald's title when Paris Saint-Germain took on ESTAC Troyes, but however small it was, Zlatan Ibrahimovic wanted no part of it. The big Swede was in his final season with the capital side, and on his way to scoring a remarkable 38 goals in 31 matches, he sealed top spot for Les Parisiens by netting four times in a 9-0 win:
