Paris FC comfortably overcame fellow promoted side Lorient thanks to goals from Ilan Kebbal and Jean-Philippe Krasso at the Stade Jean-Bouin on Friday night (2-0).
Both sides came into this encounter with confidence at a high. The visitors, Lorient, beat Monaco last weekend (3-1), whilst a late Krasso penalty earned Les Parisiens a deserved point away to OGC Nice.
However, only one side truly turned up in the first half. Krasso thought he had given Stéphane Gilli's side an early lead. He gathered Kebbal's pass, came inside his defender and curled an effort around Yvon Mvogo.
The celebrations were cut short by the lifting of the offside flag, but it wouldn't be too long until Paris FC did get their noses in front. The roles were reversed. This time, it was Krasso, the provider for Kebbal, who was put through on goal with an incisive reverse pass. The in-form No.10 did the rest, turning past Mvogo to open the scoring.

Moments later, Krasso got in on the act, too. It was Moses Simon's ball to the near post that found the centre-forward, in from the start, following his goal at the Allianz Riviera last weekend. Krasso still had plenty to do, but perfectly judged his flicked effort to put it in at Movogo's near post.
Two goals in five minutes, and Lorient were reeling. Laurent Abergel volleyed an effort over from a corner Pablo Pagis, the scorer of a brace against Les Monégasques last time around, lacked the composure to finish a good chance, skying high when unpressured inside the Parisien box.
Paris FC always had their opponent at arm's length and could have extended their lead. Krasso had the best chance to do so, but after a neat interchange with captain Maxime Lopez, his chip on Mvogo went narrowly wide.
Obed Nkambadio was largely untested but was forced into a couple of saves in the final moments as Lorient made a late attempt to get back into the tie. Bamba Dieng headed straight at the France youth international, and the goalkeeper then had to stay alert in injury-time to tip over a thunderous free-kick.
But Gilli's side never looked truly stretched. They now have three wins in their last five games in Ligue 1 McDonald's, and now provisionally sit eighth in the table.
After seven matchdays in Ligue 1 McDonald's Paris FC have 10 points. That is the highest total of any top-flight side at this stage of the season since Lens came up in the 2020-21 season. Les Parisiens were backed to make an impact upon their return to their elite, and they are now delivering on it.
