Zlatan Ibrahimovic says farewell to the PSG fans at the Parc des Princes.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic certainly made his mark in Ligue 1 McDonald's during his four-year spell at Paris Saint-Germain, and he celebrates his 44th birthday today.

Globe-trotting forward finds a home at PSG

Ibrahmovic had a journeyman career, playing for the likes of AC Milan, Inter Milan, Ajax, Juventus, Manchester United, Barcelona, hometown Malmo, before finishing his career in the United States with LA Galaxy.

However, of all of the clubs that he played for, he never made more appearances than he did for PSG, where he played 180 times, netting an incredible 156 goals in that time. It was his best goal return at any club; he also made more assists (62) with Les Parisiens than for any other club.

The Sweden international was one of the first big-name signings of the QSI era at PSG, with the forward posing in front of the Eiffel Tower upon his arrival. He rivalled the iconic monument as the biggest attraction in the French capital during his time at PSG. Beyond his goals in Ligue 1 McDonald's - 113 in just 122 games - he was also a leader in the dressing room, bringing a wealth of experience that he had already accrued at other top European clubs.

He finished top scorer in Ligue 1 McDonald's on three occasions, netting an incredible 38 goals during the 2015-16 campaign, whilst also winning the Ligue 1 McDonald's player of the year on three occasions (2012-13, 13-14, 15-16).

Collectively, PSG won the league title in each of their four seasons at the club, as the charismatic Swede helped PSG become the dominant force that we know today. "It's not easy playing for PSG because when I arrived, I was eating schnitzels, and now they have caviar. A bit different..." joked the former PSG forward during the recent Champions League draw.

'Zlatan is magical'

"Zlatan is magical," said PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi back in 2016, a play on the "Paris est Magique" slogan. At the time, he was a player who was almost as big as the club; times have now changed, and so has the project at the Parc des Princes.

But Ibrahimovic was certainly a larger-than-life character and one of the most iconic players to grace Ligue 1 McDonald's. As he has wherever he has gone, he certainly made his mark.

Happy Birthday, Zlatan Ibrahimovic!
