The Ligue 1 multiplex delivered mixed emotions across three grounds on Sunday, with decisive wins in Lille and Angers, but stalemate in Metz.

Olympique Lyonnais climbed back level with PSG on points, after edging Lille 1-0 this afternoon - whilst Stade Brestois continued their revival with a second straight victory, with a stalemate in Metz and Le Havre to mark Ligue 1 McDonald's.

Morton strikes as OL take co-leadership

At the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, Tyler Morton’s first-half header was enough to secure Olympique Lyonnais a precious 1-0 win against LOSC. The English midfielder converted a fine cross from Nicolás Tagliafico (13’), catching Arnaud Bodart flat-footed.

Lille pushed to respond, but Lyon’s rearguard stood firm, with debutant goalkeeper Patrik Greif overcoming an early scare to finish the match. The game was also marked by the dismissal of LOSC coach Bruno Genesio (77’) for dissent, leaving his side frustrated in front of their home fans.

The result lifts OL to the top of Ligue 1, level on points with PSG, while Lille’s mixed start continues.

Brest breathe easier with Angers win

Stade Brestois 29 followed up last weekend’s 4-1 triumph over Nice with a confident 2-0 success at Angers SCO.

Josué Labeau-Lascary, who saw a summer move to Angers collapse at the last minute, haunted his would-be employers by opening the scoring (26’). Romain Del Castillo then doubled the lead from the penalty spot (31’), sending Yahia Fofana the wrong way.

Eric Roy’s men had to endure injury concerns, with Labeau-Lascary forced off with a suspected elbow problem in the second half. Still, Brest managed the game well, climbing from 16th to 9th place with back-to-back victories.

Stalemate at Saint-Symphorien

Elsewhere, FC Metz and Le Havre AC played out a goalless draw (0-0) at Stade Saint-Symphorien.

The match offered little in the way of clear chances, although Lenny Zouaoui briefly thought he had given HAC the lead in the 70th minute — only for VAR to rule out the goal for a foul in the build-up. The visitors enjoyed the better of the second half, but neither side could find the breakthrough.

The point does little to lift either side away from the lower reaches of the table, with Metz and Le Havre still searching for consistency.
