Paris Saint-Germain headlines a bumper crop of Ligue 1 McDonald's players nominated across the various categories of the Ballon d'Or

Nine Paris Saint-Germain players, as well as the LOSC Lille duo of Lucas Chevalier and Ayyoub Bouaddi and PSG coach Luis Enrique have been nominated in the recently-announced Ballon d'Or shortlist.

Just reward for a treble

After a historic season in which the capital side won each of the UEFA Champions League, Ligue 1 McDonald's and Coupe de France -- as well as reaching the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, no less than nine players have been nominated for the Ballon d'Or proper. With just 25 nominees, more than a third of those shortlisted ply their trade for the capital side, a remarkable achievement headlined by prohibitive favorite Ousmane Dembélé, who added to his strong 2025 with a fine performance as he was involved in both goals as PSG won the UEFA Super Cup.

Alongside Dembélé, PSG are also represented by midfielders Fabián Ruiz -- also a UEFA Nations League finalist with Spain and the Portuguese duo of Vitinha and João Neves, both of whom were involved as their Portugal beat Ruiz's Spain in the final. Alongside this trio, both of PSG's fullbacks have been nominated -- Portugal's Nuno Mendes and Morocco's Achraf Hakimi. Further forward, the attack is well-represented beyond Dembélé by his countryman Désiré Doué and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, while Gianluigi Donnarumma -- still a PSG player at the time of writing -- rounds out the shortlist.

Young Player, Goalkeeper and Coach of the Year as well!

In addition to his nine Champions League-winning players, manager Luis Enrique has also been nominated, having previously won the award in 2015. The Spaniard has gone from strength to strength this season, completely revamping the team around a cohesive ethos despite the departure of Kylian Mbappé.

Also nominated are two players from LOSC Lille (at the time of their nominations) -- Lucas Chevalier and Ayyoub Bouaddi. Chevalier, who on Saturday joined PSG, was shortlisted for his impressive Champions League campaign that saw Les Dogues beat both Atlético Madrid and Real Madrid, while Bouaddi, a versatile was integral to those results as well, showing a preternatural ability on the ball.
