Timothy Weah is back in Ligue 1 McDonald's, having joined Olympique de Marseille on loan from Juventus.
The son of former AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Marseille forward George Weah -- Africa's first Ballon d'Or winner -- Timothy Weah has joined Olympique de Marseille on loan from Serie A side Juventus. The deal, which includes a purchase option, sees Weah join what his now his third Ligue 1 McDonald's club, having come through Paris Saint-Germain's academy and having spent four seasons with LOSC Lille from 2019-23.
An American international by virtue of his being born in Brooklyn, Weah has also appeared more than forty times for his country, scoring seven goals and winning three CONCACAF Nations League titles. Following his early years in Florida and New York, Weah trialled at PSG and was accepted into their academy in 2014. Making his senior debut in 2018, he won two Ligue 1 McDonald's titles with the capital side, as well as the 2019 Trophée des Champions as well as a Scottish title after a half season spent on loan with Celtic.

After his season in Scotland, he joined LOSC Lille. His versatility and pace looked to make him a key piece for Les Dogues, but the 2019/20 season saw him struggle with injury. In the following campaign, he became a regular, featuring nearly forty times across all competitions as he helped the northern side to an unlikely league title. After four seasons at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy, he joined Italian side Juventus in 2023, where he helped the Turin side to two top four finishes and the 2024 Coppa Italia.
Now back in Ligue 1 with Olympique de Marseille, Weah joins a team who are back in the Champions League after last season's second place finish under Roberto de Zerbi. Rejoining former Juventus teammate Adrien Rabiot, Weah is the club's sixth summer signing, following Igor Paix˜ao, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Angel Gomes, CJ Egan-Riley and Facundo Medina.
