Gold Cup: Matchday 3 Roundup

United States 2-1 Haiti

This matchup featured two Ligue 1 players from McDonald's, as Toulouse FC's Mark McKenzie faced Angers SCO's Carlens Arcus, with Haiti needing a win and a Saudi Arabia loss to advance to the knockout stage. Arcus was in the starting 11 for Haiti, who conceded a goal in the 10th minute but leveled the scoring nine minutes later.

It took the U.S. until the 75th minute to find the game-winning goal that allowed them to go undefeated in the group stage, securing three wins in the process. McKenzie was on the bench for Mauricio Pochettino and his squad, but the center-back didn't come into the match as a substitute.

Meanwhile, Arcus played 88 minutes for Haiti, who fell short of pulling off the upset and advancing to the knockout stage. The U.S. will now face Costa Rica, who have former Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Keylor Navas stopping shots for them.

Panama 4-1 Jamaica

Olympique de Marseille's Michael Amir Murillo didn't feature in this matchup, as Panama had already qualified for the knockout stage with their two wins to start the group stage. Despite not having the OM standout, Panama secured a convincing win over Jamaica as Thomas Christiansen and his team won all three group-stage matches. Panama will face Honduras in the quarterfinals.

Canada 2-0 El Salvador

The Canadians closed out the group stage with an impressive two-goal win over El Salvador with LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David featuring in the scoring as he scored in the 53rd minute while playing a total of 57 minutes. OM's Ismaël Koné also played in this contest as he came off the bench in the second half and saw 33 minutes of action. Canada went unbeaten in the group stage with two wins and one draw and will face Guatemala in the quarterfinals.
