Gold Cup: Matchday 2 Roundup

Haiti 1-1 Trinidad and Tobago

Angers SCO's Carlens Arcus featured in the starting 11 for Haiti, who opened the scoring against Trinidad and Tobago. Despite taking a one-goal lead, Trinidad and Tobago did respond, scoring a goal of their own to level the scoring as the contest ended in a one-all deadlock. Arcus played 70 minutes in the contest, recording one interception and making three tackles. Haiti's next contest will be against the United States, and they still have an opportunity to advance to the knockout stage with a win and a loss by Saudi Arabia.

United States 1-0 Saudi Arabia

Thanks to a second-half goal, Mauricio Pochettino and his team came away with all three points in a tightly contested one-goal win over Saudi Arabia. Despite coming off the bench on Matchday 1 in the win over Trinidad and Tobago, Toulouse FC's Mark McKenzie was on the bench for this contest but didn't feature in the match as the Argentine manager opted to use other players as substitutes. The U.S. will close out the group stage against Haiti as they look to go undefeated.

Panama 1-0 Guatemala

Olympique de Marseille's Michael Amir Murillo is having an impressive Gold Cup for Panama. After recording one assist against Guadeloupe, the 29-year-old added another assist to his name, leading to the goal in the first half for Panama, which proved to be the difference maker, allowing Thomas Christiansen and his side to take all three points. Panama will look to win all three group-stage matches when they face Jamaica.

Canada 1-1 Curaçao

LOSC Lille's Jonathan David and OM's Ismaël Koné featured in the starting 11 for Canada. David, who captained the squad, played all 90 minutes but didn't feature in the scoring, while Koné played 70 minutes before coming out of the contest. Jesse Marsch and his team will now face El Salvador as they look to secure a win that allows them to finish first in Group B.
