The Ligue 1 McDonald's editorial team -- George Boxall, Eric Devin and Eduardo Razo -- have picked their favorites for the 2024/25 season in seven categories. Learn who the experts have picked in our latest series, continuing with our honorees for Save of the Year.
Paris Saint-Germain edged out both Lille and Lens in being the team that have conceded the least this season with only 35 goals being scored against the champions. Gianluigi Donnarumma's performances at the European level are clear arguments in his favour, including penalty stops against Liverpool and heroics against Aston Villa and Arsenal. The Italian has also been performing well for Luis Enrique's men domestically in his 26 appearances in the league this season, with five clean sheets to his name and another Ligue 1 McDonald's trophy to show for it.

Instrumental in leading Liam Rosenior's young side's charge up the Ligue 1 McDonald's table, Petrovic was shortlisted for the UNFP Goalkeeper of the Year. Only Marcin Bulka of OGC Nice had a better save percentage than his 74.5%, and no goalkeeper among the teams that finished in the top half prevented more goals. While his time in his Alsace is likely to end as his loan spell from Chelsea has expired, there's no doubting his spell at La Meinau was impressive indeed.

Yehvann Diouf finished the season strong with four clean sheets in Reims’ final 10 matches, bringing his total to seven for the 2024-25 campaign. He consistently delivered in high-pressure games, helping Reims earn valuable points against AS Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain, and Olympique de Marseille—including a 3-1 win over OM. His best performance of the season came last month, when he racked up 14 saves in a 2-0 victory over RC Lens.
