UCL: PSG's Three Unanswered Goals Against Aston Villa Spark Comeback Win

The home side conceded the contest's first goal as Morgan Rogers scored in the 35th minute to give the Premier League side positive momentum on the road.

Aston Villa's goal was started by John McGinn, who shifted to his left foot and passed to Marcus Rashford. The Englishman played a through ball to Jacob Ramsey, who crossed to the far post for a simple goal by Rogers.

Despite conceding the opening goal, PSG responded with two unanswered goals. The first goal came from Désiré Doué in the 39th minute, leveling the scoring at one-all.

Nuno Mendes passed to the left to Doué, who shifted onto his right foot and took a clean shot from just outside the box, sending the ball into the top corner. PSG went into halftime carrying positive momentum and came out of the dressing in impressive fashion.

In the 49th minute, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia took on Aston Villa defender Axel Disasi in the box and unleashed a powerful shot into a tight angle, hitting the post and going in to give PSG a one-goal advantage.

The contest looked like it would end 2-1, but PSG struck for a third unanswered go to give themselves a cushion heading into the second leg. Nuno Mendes was played through, skillfully bypassed Ezri Konsa and Emiliano Martínez, and calmly slotted the ball into the empty net with his right foot for the goal in the second half stoppage time.

Following the win, Kvaratskhelia spoke to Canal+ to share his thoughts on the result.

"We started poorly because we conceded a goal. But Doué scored, and we managed to get back into the match. We're happy with this result, but we have to keep going because there is a second leg. We just wanted to show that we wanted to stay focused for 90 minutes. The return leg will be a tough match, and we will have to play our game. We can play our game and see what happens."
