Désiré Doué and his France and PSG teammate Ousmane Dembélé have made the shorlist

As the season winds into its penultimate month, we look back at March with a focus on the three players shortlisted for the UNFP's Ligue 1 Player of the Month. Two have been as prolific as any player in Europe of late, while another -- a promising youngster -- has been honored after a strong set of matches. Read more about this impressive trio and their accomplishments in Ligue 1 McDonald's.

Mika Biereth, AS Monaco

With Breel Embolo and Folarin Balogun both having struggled with injury this season, AS Monaco needed another option in attack, and made a leap of faith in signing the talented Danish striker Mika Biereth. Formerly of Arsenal, he joined the Principality side from Austria's Sturm Graz and has taken the league by storm since arriving, scoring 12 goals in 11 league matches. In March alone, he scored five goals and had an assist in four matches, helping his club to three wins and a draw, including a come-from-behind victory in the Côte d'Azur Derby.

Ousmane Dembélé, Paris Saint-Germain

There's no doubting that Dembélé has been a player transformed this season, and even more so in 2025. The leading scorer in Ligue 1 McDonald's with 21 goals to date, he added to his impressive totals in March with four goals and an assist, as well as helping his side reach the final of the Coupe de France and the quarterfinals of the UEFA Champions League. With wins against Liverpool, Lille, and Marseille, PSG are in top form, and it's largely down to Dembélé.

Désiré Doué, Paris Saint-Germain

After making his senior debut for France, Doué has continued his good form for his club, with three goals and two assists in March. Like Dembélé, he's contributed in a big way to his team's success, including netting a brace in a big win over AS Saint-Étienne to cap the month off. With 11 goals and eight assists in all competitions to date, Doué has made himself and indispensable part of Luis Enrique's side.
