UNFP February Player of the Month Nominees: Dembélé, Hakimi, and Gouiri

Here's a look at the three players nominated for the honor and their impressive performances in February that helped them earn a spot in the race for the award.

Ousmane Dembélé (PSG)

Dembélé will be looking to win this award in back-to-back months as he was the Player of the Month for January. The 27-year-old started the month with a bang as he recorded a hat-trick against Stade Brestois on February 1.

After recording a brace against AS Monaco on February 7, Dembélé had five goals in the first seven days of the month. Though he didn’t score against Toulouse, he returned to the scoresheet against Olympique Lyonnais on February 23 to cap off a fantastic month.

Achraf Hakimi (PSG)

Unlike his teammate Dembélé, Hakimi didn't start his month with a bang, but he instead ended it with a stunning performance against Lyon. That's not to say the PSG defender didn't have quality performances to start the month as he played 90 minutes against Brest on February 1 and Toulouse on February 15.

Hakimi missed the match against Monaco on February 7 but made up for it in the final game of the month against OL on February 23. He scored a brace, which played a key role in earning him a nomination for Player of the Month.

Amine Gouiri (OM)

Gouiri jumped on a moving train in February as he joined Marseille during the winter transfer window. The 25-year-old's first OM match was on February 2 against Lyon, where he provided an assist, and then in his second game for the club, Gouiri recorded two assists in the win over Angers.

After recording three assists in his first two matches, Gouiri decided to get into the goal-scoring department in his third contest as he recorded a brace in the 5-0 win over AS Saint-Étienne. OM's latest addition didn't feature in the scoring in the loss to AJ Auxerre on February 22.
