Metz were expected to compete at the top end of the Ligue 2 table, but it has taken until Matchday 6 for Les Grenats to taste the top of the league with a 6-0 win over struggling Martigues. Cheikh Sabaly's hatrick, a brace from Mathieu Udol, and a strike from Ibou Sane secured a morale-boosting second win of the season for Stéphane Le Mignan's side.
Paris FC got back to winning ways against Guingamp, ending a run of two defeats on the bounce to return to second place in Ligue 2. Julien Lopéz opened the scoring with a finish at the back post (10') before Illan Kebbal converted his second half penalty (75') to secure all three points for Les Parisiens.
PFC have now won 7 of their last 8 home games in Ligue 2, the same number as in the previous 16 (4 draws, 5 defeats). They now look forward to a derby clash with Red Star FC next Saturday (14:00 CET).
All was going well for the Corsican side, when Amine Boutrah scored his second goal in two games to fire Bastia back to the top of the table (36'). Yet, a penalty from Yacine Bammou (65') and Anton Sekongo's late finish (83') saw the Seasiders clinch a fourth straight win in Ligue 2 BKT.
Dunkerque now have 12 points after six Ligue 2 matches, their highest total at this stage of the season. Les Nordistes have won each of their last 4 L2 matches, which is now their longest winning streak in the division since January-February 1995 (5).
Last season's Ligue 2 BKT top scorer Alexandre Mendy got off the mark with a brace against Amiens to earn Les Vikings a second win of the season. Louis Matoufa scored for Amiens (26') to cancel out Mendy's opening strike (13'), before the striker provided the winner for the Normand side with ten minutes to go (81').
