The third gameweek of Ligue 2 BKT saw 16 goals scored over nine matches played over the weekend, with Paris FC taking a lead at the top of the table as Stéphane Gilli's side continued their 100% start with a win against Clermont (0-1). But first thing first, let's take a look at by far the most entertaining match of the game week (and potentially of the season) as Red Star stunned former league leaders Guingamp in a 4-3 win. With goals galore and some quality strikes from the Breton side, it was an unmissable classic.
Red Star managed to grab their first away win of the season in style against one of the impressive early season sides in Guingamp. L'Étoile Rouge raced into a one-goal lead early on after new signing Aliou Badji scored on his first start for the club with a lofted finish just outside the six yard box after being served a delicious ball by Damien Durand (3'). Guingamp's Amine Hemia raised the temperature levels with a stinging low strike from outside the box which was impossible to save for Quentin Beunardeau (23'). The Breton side pushed for the equaliser, but it was Red Star who would take the lead once more after Ryad Hachem was fouled on his way to latching onto Samuel Renel's outside-of-the-foot pass and referee Robin Chapapria. Up stepped centre-back Bradley Danger to confidently dispatch for the away side (45').
But the lead wouldn't last long. Only one minute later Amine Hemia would pop up with what was quite possibly the goal of the season: a sweetly-struck volley from the edge of the box which flew into the back of the net (45+1'). If it looked like the league leaders were going on to win the game, Grégory Poirier's side had other ideas. After Hemia completed his brace, Aliou Badji would get one of his own when he latched onto Fodé Doucouré's diverted cross and finished calmly in front of the away fans (51'). Damien Durand then added to the scoring with a finish from the centre of the box after Fred Dembi's cross as the away fans looked almost in disbelief at Red Star's two-goal advantage (60'). Guingamp midfielder Brighton Labeau would pop up a fantastic third effort from range for the hosts to set up a tense finish at Stade Roudourou (78'). The side from the Paris suburbs would pull through despite several late chances for their second win in the space of a week.
On the week that PFC secured the signing of Maxime Lopez from Sassuolo, Jean-Phillipe Krasso scored his first goal to keep intact his side's 100% record at the top of the Ligue 2 table. The Ivorian international latched onto the ball after it was held up by Nouha Dicko, and stormed into the box with a powerful finish to match (12'). Clermont had several chances to get back into the game, with Nkambadio notably making several smart stops to deny Les Lanciers. Clermont substitute Ivan Adnan Joshua M'Bahia would be sent off in injury time, as Les Parisiens took all three points back to the capital.
A tough start to the season for Troyes continued as their Corsican hosts came from behind to win in the final minutes of the game thanks to a fantastic acrobatic strike from Yoann Touzghar. Rafiki Saïd opened the scoring for ESTAC with a scuffed finish (12') before Mathis Hamdi's tackle before half-time would earn a red card and shift the balance of the game. ACA earned a penalty just after the break which was dispatched by Christopher Ibayi (52'). L'Ours would go ahead right at the death when Touzghar connected brilliantly with an acrobatic volley after ESTAC goalkeeper Quilichini parried the ball into his path (89').
