In the second week of Ligue 2 action only three sides kept their 100% winning record intact, as Guingamp, Paris FC, and Lorient lead the way in the second tier. Meanwhile, promoted sides Red Star and Martigues both created history, sealing their first wins in the second division for over 20 years.
It looked as if Dunkerque would spoil Paris FC's first home game of the season (played at Amiens' Stade de la Licorne) when an own goal from Timothée Kolodziejczack (40') and a strike from Gassime Yassine (65') saw Les Maritimes race into a two-goal lead. Yet, with only 25 minutes to play, a deft chip from Julien López (79') kicked-off what would turn out to be a sensational comeback at Stade de la Licorne. Kolodziejczack repented for his own goal with a towering header to level proceedings (88') before 18-year-old new recruit Oumar Sissoko raced down on goal and lifted a deflected strike over Dunkerque keeper Ewen Jaouen (90').
FC Martigues clinched their first three points of the season and a first victory in France's second tier for 22 years. Diawara opened the scoring for Thierry Laurey's men (11') before the home side equalised via Antoine Larose (26'). Mahimé Siby (45') and Milan Robin (77') would put the away side 3-1 up before the home side tried to mount a comeback at 3-2 via Axel Drouhin (84'). Steve Loic Solvet's header (87') would halt any chance of a comeback for Annecy, as Les Sang & Or sealed their first three points in Ligue 2 this season.
Red Star returned to their spiritual home at Stade Bauer in the second tier for the first time in 26 years, and it saw the Paris suburb side take their first three points of the season against Ajaccio. New signing Samuel Renel scored with a close range finish in the early stages of the game (3') as Grégory Poirier's men bounced back from their opening day defeat to Amiens. Les Audoniens now record three points after their first two Ligue 2 games - their best start in the second division since the 1997-1998 season.
Lorient kept up their 100% record with a win over potential play-off challengers Grenoble in the first Ligue 2 match at Stade du Moustoir for four years. Following a long stoppage in the first half, Eli Junior Kroupi would get on the scoresheet for his first goal in Ligue 2, turning in Bamba Deing's low cross (46'). Julien Ponceau then doubled Lorient's lead over GF38 with a low finish (68') with a low finish to seal all three points for the side who were recently relegated from Ligue 1.
It got off to the worst possible start for Rodez when a huge error from goalkeeper Sébastien Cibois gave Cheikh Sabaly an open net to finish after only eight seconds of the game being played (1'). Sabaly then doubled Metz's lead in the 30th minute, before Les Grenats went three ahead after an own goal by Ahmad Ngouyamsa (44'). A sending off for Dany Jean would effectively scupper RAF's chances of getting something from the game, despite scoring a consolation effort just before the hour-mark via Willity Younoussa (59').
