Multiplex Recap: Le Have, Reims, and Nice Secure Wins

Three matches took place in the multiplex time slot on Sunday with Stade de Reims, Le Havre, and OGC Nice securing wins. Did you miss any of the action? Here's a recap to get you all caught up.

Le Havre 3-1 AJ Auxerre

After losing their Matchday 1 contest to Paris Saint-Germain, Le Havre have won two straight matches. Didier Digard and his team scored five goals in their wins, three of which came against Auxerre.

Despite the three goals from Le Havre, Auxerre opened the scoring thanks to a goal from Gaëtan Perrin in the 17th minute. AJA faced adversity in this contest after they went down a man following a red card to Ki-Jana Hoever in the first half stoppage time.

Le Club Doyen took advantage of playing with a man advantage, scoring three unanswered goals to take all three points.

Stade de Reims 2-1 Stade Rennais

Leo Skiri Østigård opened the scoring in the contest after a goal in the 13th minute as Rennes took an early 1-0 lead over Reims. Julien Stéphan and his team were close to heading into halftime with their advantage, but Reims leveled the scoring after Junya Ito scored in the 41st minute.

Luka Elsner and his team took advantage of the momentum they secured heading into the dressing room with a goal a few minutes into the second half. Oumar Diakité gave Reims a 2-1 lead following a goal in the 48th minute, and Les Rouges et Blanc held onto this scoreline for the win and all three points.

After going winless in the first two matchdays, Reims got their first victory of the 2024-25 season while Rennes have lost their last two matches following their Matchday 1 win over Olympique Lyonnais.

OGC Nice 4-1 Angers SCO

Nice brought out their scoring boots on Sunday with four goals for an impressive road win at Stade Raymond Kopa. The first goal came from Youssouf Ndayishimiye in the sixth minute and Hicham Boudaoui scored in the 25th minute to give Les Aiglons a 2-0 advantage.

In the 67th minute, Himad Abdelli scored on a penalty kick to cut the deficit to 2-1, but that's as close as Angers would get to level the score. Evann Guessand recorded a brace in the second half, scoring in the 72nd and 85th minute to give Nice the insurance goals and the win.

Franck Haise and his team secured their first win of the 2024-25 season after going winless in their first two matches. As for Angers, they're off to a tough start as they have lost all three games to start the season.
