Manager Bernard Diomède went with Lyon's Justin Bengui João as the starting goalkeeper. In defense, OL's Saël Kumbedi, Rennes' Jérémy Jacquet, Le Havre's Yoni Gomis, and Paris FC's Aboubaka Soumahoro were the starters.
In the midfield, Diomède went with Reims' Valentin Atangana, Monaco's Mayssam Benama, Monaco's Lucas Michal, Monaco's Saïmon Bouabré, and Paris Saint-Germain's Senny Mayulu. For the striker position, Le Havre's Steve Ngoura was in the starting 11 for Diomède for this contest.
The two teams played to a scoreless first half with the France U19 team registering three total shots while the Ukraine U19 squad countered with four total shots. In the final 45 minutes, Les Bleus recorded five total shots with one breaking the scoreless deadlock.
Mayulu provided the assist on the goal from Atangana in the 61st minute to give France the 1-0 lead. The Ukraine U19 team had three total shots in the second half, but they couldn't find the back of the net.
France advanced to Sunday's final, where they'll face the Spanish U19 team at Windsor Park. The Spanish U19 team defeated Italy's U19 squad thanks to a goal from Real Madrid's Pol Fortuny in extra time.
