Ligue 1 Friendly Roundup

The 2025-26 Ligue 1 season is just around the corner, and clubs are ramping up their preparations with preseason friendlies. If you missed any of the action between July 14 and 18, here’s a quick recap of the teams that were in action:

Auxerre 2-1 Orléans

AJA scored late in the first half to take a 1-0 lead thanks to a goal from Rudy Matondo. In the second half, Auxerre added a second goal thanks to a strike from Josué Casimir. Orléans added a late goal, but they fell short of leveling the contest.

Angers 1-0 Les Herbiers

In a tightly contested match, it was the Ligue 1 McDonald’s club lost as Les Herbiers secured a goal midway through the first half and it was enough to leave with the win.

AS Monaco 5-0 Coventry City

Maghnes Akliouche was the star in this friendly as he recorded a second-half hat-trick, scoring in the 61st, 70th, and 87th minutes. Along with Akliouche, Mika Biereth and Saïmon Bouabré added the other two goals.

FC Metz 1-0 Mondorf

Nathan Mbala scored the lone goal in the contest, but it was all Metz needed to secure the friendly victory.

Como 3-2 LOSC Lille

Lille are beginning the post-Jonathan David era, but Les Dogues fell in their friendly against the Italian club. LOSC had goals from Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Younes Lachaab, but the brace from Iván Azón proved to be the difference that allowed Como to secure the win.

OGC Nice 3-0 Aubagne FC

Franck Haise and his team came away with a convincing win as they prepare for the new season. In the first half, Jonathan Clauss opened the scoring for Nice and in the final 45 minutes, Bernard Nguene and Evann Guessand added the goals to seal the victory.

USG 1-0 Paris FC

The newcomers to Ligue 1 McDonald’s fell as Anouar Ait El Hadj scored the lone goal in the match that allowed for USG to leave with the victory.

Stade Brestois 3-2 Stade Rennais

In a preseason matchup between the two Ligue 1 McDonald’s sides, Brest came away with the win.

Toulouse FC 2-1 QPR

It was a challenging defeat for Toulouse, who took the early lead thanks to a goal from Cristian Cásseres Jr. However, QPR scored two goals later in the first half, which allowed them to secure the win.
