Khvicha Kvaratskhelia Excels on the Right: New Strategy Benefits PSG

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique isn't afraid to experiment with his starting 11 and the Spanish tactician has found a home for Khvicha Kvaratskhelia on the right side.

In PSG's last two matches, they secured victories against Stade Brestois in the UEFA Champions League and Olympique Lyonnais in Ligue 1 McDonald's.

Kvaratskhelia has impressed on the right wing, registering three goal contributions. He recorded a goal and an assist against Brest while registering an assist in the victory over OL.

Although he's primarily a left-winger, the Georgian has seamlessly adapted to his new role on the right side. This early success bodes well for PSG as they can have an attacking trio that features Bradley Barcola, Kvaratskhelia, and the red-hot Ousmane Dembélé.

When Kvaratskhelia arrived from Napoli this past winter transfer window, Enrique had him as the starting left winger, often playing him ahead of Barcola or shifting the Frenchman to the right wing.

Now, it's Kvaratskhelia's time to shine on the right side, and he's delivering outstanding performances. After last week's 7-0 win over Brest, the PSG newcomer shared that his adaptation process is starting to come together, allowing him to succeed.

"Everything is going very well. It's never easy to arrive in a new country, a new league. It's really different, but I work hard, it's my job. My wife is coming. Everything is falling into place."

Due to the 24-year-old playing another position than he's accustomed to, might be the reason that Enrique feels there's more room for the player to grow and develop.

"We’re looking for the best possible form for each player, just like we do for others. He’s still growing and adapting. He’s not quite at 100 percent yet. We’re focused on finding the team solution that ensures the best competitiveness in every match."

The next test for PSG on whether Kvaratskhelia can find a permanent home on the right side will come against Liverpool. PSG will host the Premier League leaders on March 5 at the Parc des Princes and then the Ligue 1 McDonald's side will travel to Anfield for the return leg on March 11.
