João Neves scored a stunner to kick off a successful evening for PSG.

Goals from Lee-Kang In, Lucas Beraldo, and João Neves sealed Paris Saint-Germain's fifth victory in a row in a dominant win over TFC.

Paris Saint-Germain returned to action in Ligue 1 following the international break with a tricky test against an up and down Toulouse side at the Parc des Princes. With the intention of making it five wins on the bounce in the league, PSG were certainly hoping for a positive result ahead of their trip to Bayern Munich in the Champions League next week. A few changes were made with that European trip in mind, as Safonov started between the sticks and Milan Skriniar was named in the starting XI alongside Lucas Beraldo at the back.

The first period was a slow burner for the Rouge et Bleu, with Carles Martinez Novell's side showing a lot of determination to take the game to hosts in the Capital. Yet, Enrique's men began to ease back into their passing rhythm, and much of that domination was rewarded when João Neves popped up with a fine low strike to open the scoring for PSG. The Portuguese international was found by a perfectly-hit cross via Achraf Hakimi, and the midfielder connected with a stunning volley from just outside the box to open the scoring (36').

As Neves notched his second goal of the season for PSG, it separated the sides by the half-time whistle. Les Violets weren't without their chances however, as Gboho, Josh King, and Aboukhlal had a bright first period.

The second half came and the hosts repeated the same pattern as the first. Yoram Zague would be replaced by Vitinha, as Achraf Hakimi's strike from distance tested Guillaume Restes from range. Les Parisiens thought they had doubled the lead via Warren Zaïre-Emery, but it would be ruled out by VAR after a lengthy review for an offside in the build-up.

PSG fight off Toulouse's purple patch

Toulouse dropped back into their defensive shape, and soaked up a load of pressure coming from PSG. Yet, le Téfécé wasn't down and out just yet. Zaïre-Emery was vital in tracking back as Sierro threaded a ball through to Aboukhlal - the Frenchman just blocking in time.

Shavy Babicka did well to then close down the PSG defence and win the ball, but his strike from close range was blasted over the bar. Charlie Cresswell was next up with a great chance from a header from Sierro's free-kick, but it went just wide. For the hosts, Randal Kolo Muani and Lee Kang-In came on to establish some more attacking dominance.

Finally, the hosts would get their second goal: but the scorer was somewhat unexpected. Achraf Hakimi was once again the provider with a looped cross which was poorly cleared by the Toulouse defence. Up popped Lucas Beraldo to finish with a well-hit volley (84') to effectively seal all three points. Lee Kang-In added a third in injury-time with a curled finish, to put the result beyond doubt: a fifth win in a row for PSG.

THE STAT: 35 and counting

Paris Saint-Germain have scored 35 goals after 12 games in Ligue 1 this season. It is the best total at this stage in the top flight for the club since the 2018-2019 season under Thomas Tuchel (41).
