Le Havre AC: Didier Digard suspended
Just hours after the heavy defeat against PSG (1-5, matchday 9), Le Havre AC announced on Saturday that head coach Didier Digard has been suspended as a precautionary measure. The Normandy club has handed the interim role to Jaïr Karam, currently director of the youth academy, who will lead the first team’s training sessions starting Monday.
A former player who came through the club’s youth system, Digard took over the Le Havre bench on July 1, 2024. Before this difficult start to the season (bottom of the table with 2 points from 9 matchdays), he had secured survival in each of his two previous seasons. He managed 77 Ligue 1 McDonald’s matches for the Ciel et Marine and leaves with a record of 17 wins, 20 draws and 40 losses.
Jean-Michel Roussier resigns
The change on the bench comes amid a deep shake-up at the top of HAC. The club’s owner, Blue Crow Sports Group, also announced on Saturday the resignation of president Jean-Michel Roussier, who had led the club since June 2022. Yacine Alaoui, managing director, will now oversee all of the club’s administrative and sporting activities, while a new Chairman and CEO is due to be appointed shortly.
