Jacobo Ortega has joined the Alsatians from Real Madrid's reserves

RC Strasbourg's busy summer has continued apace this week, with plenty of major departures and arrivals. Join the Ligue 1 McDonald's team as we look at all of the Alsatians' business to date.

Key arrivals

The latest signing by Racing is Costa Rican defender Jeyland Mitchell, but he marks just one of more than a dozen new faces -- including manager Hugo Oliveira. Chelsea loanee Filip Jørgenson looks set to be the team's new number one, continuing on from Mike Penders last season and Đorđe Petrović the campaign prior, while Genesis Antwi also has arrived from Stamford Bridge.

Joining Mitchell in signing permanent deals are Ortega, a powerful and prolific Spanish striker, hard-working Portuguese midfielder Diogo Sousa and two talented attackers from the Bundesliga -- American Giovanni Reyna and Fabio Baldé. Also new to the side are a coterie of less experienced but promising players, including Swedish playmaker Benjamin Brantlind, Polish goalkeeper Milosz Piekutowski and Brazilian fullback Angelo Candido, who will be available to feature after his 18th birthday.

Key departures

The latest news out of the Stade de la Meinau is that the club have countenanced a move for Diego Moreira to AC Milan. The Belgium international is perhaps the biggest success story for the team's new, youth-oriented policy. After a loan spell with Lyon in 2023 saw him look woefully out of his depth, his play since returning to Ligue 1 has been sparkling, and his technical qualities and versatility will surely be missed across France.

Other major outgoings this summer include Julio Enciso, who had a fine World Cup to build on what was his best and most consistent club season to date, and Valentín Barco. The Argentine midfielder also came on leaps and bounds, proving his worth as one of the division's best players as a combative presence in the centre of the park. The club have also notably parted company with Abdoul Ouattara, an impressive right-sided wingback who came through the Club's academy, as well as midfielders Rabby Nzingoula and Junior Mwanga.
