Paris Saint-Germain will once again take part in the UEFA Supercup as they face former manager Unai Emery and his Aston Villa side in Salzburg on Wednesday. Get the latest on the match from the Ligue 1 McDonald's team.

Ready for a second successive title

After what will have been regarded as a disappointing World Cup for the French and Portuguese cores of the Paris Saint-Germain squad, there's a large element of eagerness to set things right on the part of Luis Enrique's side, an element that will no doubt have been exacerbated by a disappointing set of preseason results.

Speaking pre-match, captain Marquinhos underscored this, saying, "We want to win the trophy tomorrow, that's important for us. We know our fans will be at our side and we want to bring the trophy home with us. The goal is to keep winning trophies and write history. Even though we won a lot of trophies last season, we'll keep going because that's Paris Saint-Germain's mentality."

Aside from their mentality, PSG will also look to rejig their squad, as new signing Maghnes Akliouche is in the frame to start tomorrow.

A rematch for Emery and Enrique

Given their shared Spanish heritage, Enrique and Aston Villa manager Unai Emery have faced off numerous times previously, including in this competition in 2015, when Enrique's Barcelona edged Emery's Sevilla 5-4 in a thrilling encounter.

However, Villa will have to do without several key players as all of Ollie Watkins, Emi Martínez and Ezri Konsa are on leave, while new signing Johan Manzambi and Amadou Onana are injured.

Predicted lineups

Paris Saint-Germain (4-3-3): Safonov; Hakimi, Marquinhos, Pacho, Mendes; Zaïre-Emery, Vitinha, Neves; Akliouche (or Barcola), Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia (or Doué)

Aston Villa (4-2-3-1): Bizot; Cash, Lindelöf, Torres, Maatsen; Kamara, Gomes; McGinn, Guendia, Garnacho; Abraham
