What motivated you to sign with Paris FC?
"Ligue 1 is a fantastic league. It was hard for me to turn down a project as ambitious as Paris FC's. I felt a connection with the people running the club."
What are your takeaways from your time at Strasbourg?
"There was a mix of emotions when leaving the league; I was very excited to join Chelsea—a big club from my home country—but at the same time sad to leave a fantastic club like Strasbourg. I have a lot of respect for the club, its fans, and the people who work there, and we shared some great moments together."
What tactical system do you plan to use this season?
"The system isn't the most important thing—whether we play with three, four, or five at the back. What matters is the philosophy we want to implement and the playing style we aim to develop—the kind we saw against Strasbourg and Chelsea. The most important thing is how well the players grasp our ideas."

"Dominate as many aspects of the game as possible"
What are these ideas?
"We want to dominate as many aspects of the game as possible—possession, attacking and defensive transitions, and aggression. Not to mention supporting and developing the players, enabling them to put our ideas into practice."
How many more new signings are you expecting during this transfer window?
"The key players are already here; these past few days have allowed me to get to know the squad better. There will be reinforcements, but my focus is on the players currently here. This squad has impressed me, though I still need time to get to know them better."
There is some uncertainty regarding Ilan Kebbal’s presence at the club this season. Do you want to keep him?
"I want to keep him. He’s a top player; he impressed me last season when I faced him while managing Strasbourg. His style of play fits our ideas perfectly."
What lessons did you take away from your time at Chelsea, which wasn't a positive experience?
"I learned a lot from that experience. It was an honor to coach a club of that stature; there are things we could have done better—we arrived mid-season, after all. I’ve gained a great deal from that experience, and it will serve me well at Paris FC."

What surprised you the most upon joining Paris FC?
"What surprised me was the people—the president (Pierre Ferracci), Marco (Neppe, the sporting director), Jean-Marc Gallot (the CEO), and the shareholders—as well as their drive and ambition for this project. I’m inheriting the exceptional work of my predecessors and a squad with character that showed great promise at the end of last season. The club trusts and believes in us to help it grow in the years to come."
When you’re the coach of a Paris team, do you have to play "champagne football"—an attractive, exciting style?
"Football is a game; we’re here to enjoy ourselves and bring joy to our community as they watch the team. But first comes the day-to-day work; the reward comes on the weekend, after the hard work has been put in."
