Join Ligue 1 McDonald's as we run the rule over the final day of World Cup group action, starting with a Group K win for DR Congo.
With a draw between Colombia and Portugal always likely given it would allow both sides to progress, DR Congo knew only a win in Atlanta would do, and they played like it, starting an attack-minded 4-4-2 that featured plenty of Ligue 1 McDonald's talent, including goalkeeper Lionel Mpasi (Le Havre), defenders Arthur Masuaku (Lens) and Chancel Mbemba (LOSC) and winger Nathanaël Mbuku (Montpellier), with Ngal'Ayel Mukau (LOSC) coming off the bench.
The star of the show, however, was former FC Lorient striker Yoane Wissa, who continued his torrid form in the tournament with a second-half brace. Having gone a goal down to an early strike from the Uzbeks, who still harbored a slim chance of progress, Les Léopards dug deep to score three times in the match's final 25 minutes. Wissa opened the scoring from the penalty spot (65') before sealing the result with a marvelous shot on the turn in stoppage time, securing his side a place in the Round of 32 against England on Wednesday in Atlanta.

With a scoreless draw that was played largely in their opponents' half of the pitch, Colombia topped Group K. In Miami, FC Nantes' Deiver Machado was in the eleven for Los Cafeteros alongside former AS Monaco playmaker James Rodriguez, while ex-Rennes man Juan Fernando Quintero came off the bench. For O Selecão, the Paris Saint-Germain duo of Nuno Mendes and Vitinha were in the eleven, with their teammate João Neves featuring from the bench alongside ex-LOSC winger Rafael Leão.
After tormenting the Portuguese throughout, forcing 'keeper Diogo Costa into six saves, Colombia thought they had won the match in added time in the second half, only for Davinson Sánchez's header to be flagged offside. Impressive in the tournament to date, if a bit lacking in cutting edge, Colombia's reward for topping the group will be a match in Kansas City against Ghana on Friday, while Portugal, who finished second, take on Croatia Thursday in Toronto.
