As the World Cup continues, we keep with the stars of Ligue 1 McDonald's -- Saturday's action saw two one-all draws and heartbreak for Haiti against Scotland.
Arguably the shock result of the tournament so far, this result leaves Group B on a knife-edge, with Bosnia having previously drawn with hosts Canada. In San Francisco, both Breel Embolo (Stade Rennais) and Denis Zakaria (AS Monaco) were in the eleven for Murat Yakin's side, and the Nati would take a deserved lead on 17 minutes, with Breel Embolo converting a penalty following a controversial offside decision. Embolo would continue to combine well with former OGC Nice winger Dan Ndoye, but failed to double their lead, something they would come to rue in added time, with Miro Muheim scoring a horror own goal to make it one-all, earning the Qataris their first-ever point in a World Cup.

One of the group stage's most highly anticipated matchups more than lived up to its billing, with Marquinhos (Paris Saint-Germain) starting for the Selecão alongside the former Lyon midfielders Lucas Paqueta and Bruno Guimarães. Morocco, of course, had plenty of faces as well, with Achraf Hakimi and Lille prodigy Ayyoub Bouaddi both in the eleven in New Jersey. Brazil were well off the pace from the start, and Ismael Saibari made them pay by finishing off a clever team move on 21 minutes. Brazil would respond ten minutes later through Vini Jr, and while they would grow into the game, both they and the Atlas Lions will no doubt have left the match with some regrets.

In Boston, a Haïti side buoyed by several France-based players, including goalkeeper Johnny Placide (Bastia), right back Carlens Arcus (Angers) and Josué Casimir (Le Havre), was undone by a first-half strike from John McGinn. With Brazil and Morocco still to play, the Haitians task of progressing is now difficult indeed, even if they had a few bright moments against a shaky Scottish defence.
