This season marks PSG’s fifth European final. Against Arsenal, the Parisian club will become the first French side to reach the Champions League final for a third time in their history — and their third in seven years.
So far, PSG’s record in Champions League finals stands at one win and one defeat. Beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich in 2020, the Parisians bounced back last season by recording the biggest winning margin in a Champions League final with a 5-0 victory over Inter.
PSG are the first defending champions to reach the final since Real Madrid in 2017 and 2018.
The French champions have now won five consecutive knockout ties against English clubs.
Against Premier League opposition, PSG have suffered just one defeat in their last 12 Champions League matches (9 wins, 2 draws).
Luis Enrique’s side have also won 13 of their last 17 knockout matches in the competition (2 draws, 2 defeats).
Ahead of the final, PSG boast the best attack in this season’s Champions League with 44 goals scored — just one shy of Barcelona’s all-time record of 45 goals set in 1999/00.
With 10 goals, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia is the third-highest scorer in this season’s competition. The Georgian has also equalled Zlatan Ibrahimović’s record for the most goals scored by a PSG player in a single Champions League campaign.
Kvaratskhelia also ranks among the competition’s top assist providers with six assists, alongside teammate Achraf Hakimi.
According to UEFA data, Vitinha is the player who has covered the greatest total distance in the competition this season with 178 kilometres, ahead of teammate Warren Zaïre-Emery (163.5 km).
Luis Enrique will take charge of his third Champions League final. The Spanish coach won his first two — with Barcelona in 2015 and PSG last season. Only four managers in history have reached more finals: Carlo Ancelotti (5), Bob Paisley (3), Zinédine Zidane (3), and Pep Guardiola (3).
