Sékou Mara's goal against Angers helped boost Auxerre's survival chances

In the Matchday 32 multiplex, Auxerre earned a valuable win in their quest for survival, while Paris FC continued their resurgence under Antoine Kombouaré and Toulouse won away to Strasbourg.

AJ Auxerre 3-1 Angers SCO

After struggling all season, Sékou Mara finally came good when it mattered for the Burgundians. Looking to move closer to OGC Nice ahead of the two squaring off next weekend, Auxerre needed a win to keep their hopes of avoiding the relegation playoff alive. Strasbourg loanee Mara, who was yet to score this season, would find the back of the net with just 12 minutes on the clock, pouncing on a loose ball to volley his side ahead.

From there, Angers would have chances, but their hopes of getting back into the match were undone by the sending-off of Amine Sbäi early in the second half. After Théo de Percin saved a penalty shortly thereafter, Mara would have his double following some fine work on the ball by Lassine Sinayoko (61'). The former Southampton striker would return the favor six minutes later, and Auxerre would end the round just three points behind Les Aiglons.

Paris FC 4-0 Stade Brestois

The hosts won for the third time in four matches in Ligue 1 McDonald's, bouncing back from last week's defeat against Lille to trounce the Bretons at the Stade Jean-Bouin. Young midfielder Rudy Matondo scored a brace, his first two goals since joining the capital side, while Luca Kolesho and Willem Guebbels also found the net for Paris FC, who have now picked up more points than any side save Lille in their last six games.

RC Strasbourg 1-2 Toulouse FC

Finally, at La Meinau, a heavily rotated RC Strasbourg lost 2-1 to visiting Toulouse. With players like Julio Enciso, Diego Moreira and Valentín Barco on the bench or not even in the squad, a young lineup was deployed by Gary O'Neil, including a first start for Yaya Diemé. Samuel Amo-Ameyaw would give his side the lead just before the half hour, netting with a brilliant curling effort, but the Alsatians' joy was short-lived, as Dayann Méthalie scored a fine goal on the counter to level the match. Neither side had much in the way of clear-cut chances in the second half, but substitute Emersonn would settle the match with his sixth goal of the season with six minutes to play.
