The international break did nothing to halt their momentum. With a 2-1 victory over Olympique de Marseille, AS Monaco secured a seventh straight Ligue 1 McDonald’s win — their longest such run since March–May 2022 (9) — and currently the longest ongoing streak across Europe’s top five leagues.

It marks a significant shift in form, given that Monaco had won just eight of their opening 21 league matches this season (4 draws, 9 defeats).

Sunday’s success over OM also made it five consecutive home wins — their best run at the Stade Louis-II since January–April 2025 (6) — equalling the number of victories from their first 10 home matches of the campaign (1 draw, 4 defeats).

A five-place climb… and more to come?

This run has powered a remarkable rise up the table. Sitting 10th after Matchday 21, 14 points adrift of the podium, Monaco are now up to 5th place — just one point behind third-placed LOSC Lille.

Ligue 1 McDonald’s form table (last 7 matches):

  1. AS Monaco – 21 pts
  2. LOSC Lille – 17 pts
  3. Stade Rennais – 16 pts
  4. RC Strasbourg – 13 pts
  5. Paris Saint-Germain – 12 pts (-1 game)
  6. RC Lens, FC Lorient, Stade Brestois, OM & Paris FC – 10 pts

An attack firing on all cylinders

Monaco have scored at least twice in each of their last nine matches in all competitions — their longest such run since January–March 2018 (12).

One player perfectly embodies this form: Folarin Balogun. The American striker, who netted a superb lob against Marseille, has now scored in each of his last six Ligue 1 matches. He becomes the fourth Monaco player in the 21st century to achieve this feat, after Shabani Nonda (8 in 2003), Rony Lopes (8 in 2018), and Wissam Ben Yedder (6 in 2019).

Balogun has also scored eight goals in 11 matches across all competitions since 1 February — more than any other player in the French top flight over that period.
