Hervé Koffi has been one of the best performing goalkeepers in Ligue 1 this season.

Fischer under pressure, Koffi and Risser leading the way

Goalkeeper for the bottom-placed side with the league’s worst defence, Jonathan Fischer has unsurprisingly been the most tested this season. Frequently facing waves of chances, the FC Metz shot-stopper has still managed a high number of saves, reflecting the constant pressure on his defence.

He leads the league in total saves (90), just ahead of Hervé Koffi (Angers, 88) and Donovan Léon (Auxerre, 83).

Among the top-performing teams, Robin Risser has been a revelation for RC Lens (65 saves). He ranks just behind Mike Penders (Strasbourg, 72) and Brice Samba (Rennes, 70).

Efficiency matters: Koffi and Risser stand out

Save percentages further highlight the strong seasons of Koffi and Risser. Their performances are not just about volume—they are highly efficient.

With a 77% save rate, Koffi leads among regularly used goalkeepers. The 21-year-old Risser follows with 73.9%, while Donovan Léon ranks third with 72.2%.

Rémy Descamps boasts an impressive 82.4%, but has only made five appearances for Lyon.

Despite losing his starting spot during the season, Lucas Chevalier still has a better save percentage (71.7%) than his replacement Matvey Safonov (65.4%). At Brest, Grégoire Coudert—who took over from Radoslaw Majecki—also ranks well with 70.8%, just behind Marseille’s Gerónimo Rulli (71.3%).

Home vs away performances

At home, no goalkeeper matches Koffi in volume, with 51 saves at Stade Raymond-Kopa. However, in terms of save percentage, PSG’s Lucas Chevalier leads with 83.3%.

Away from home, Jonathan Fischer again tops the charts with 53 saves, ahead of Mike Penders (44) and Robin Risser (43). But the best save percentage on the road belongs to Kevin Trapp and Rémy Descamps (both 76.9%), ahead of Risser (74.1%) and Koffi (74%).

Ever-present goalkeepers

Three goalkeepers have played all 26 matchdays so far: Robin Risser, Jonathan Fischer, and Guillaume Restes. Mike Penders and Brice Samba have only missed one match each.

Paris FC has rotated the most between its goalkeepers, with 15 appearances for Kevin Trapp and 11 for Obed Nkambadio.

Other clubs using multiple goalkeepers include Brest (Coudert 17 matches, Majecki 10), PSG (Chevalier 17, Safonov 8), Nice (Diouf 18, Dupé 8), and Monaco (Köhn 19, Hradecky 9).

Hervé Koffi: Angers’ saviour

A top goalkeeper earns points for their team—and in that regard, Hervé Koffi has been the best in the league.

He has prevented a remarkable 10.3 goals for Angers this season. Considering their struggles in attack, this contribution has been crucial to their campaign under Alexandre Dujeux.

Robin Risser has also played a key role in Lens’ impressive season, with 6.5 goals prevented, just ahead of Lille’s Berke Özer (6.2).

Risser: the clean sheet king

Clean sheets are perhaps the clearest indicator of defensive solidity.

As the last line of defence for the league’s second-best defence, Robin Risser stands out for his ability to keep his goal intact. In a league where defences have often faltered, his consistency has been vital.

With 10 clean sheets, he leads the way, ahead of a trio on 9: Hervé Koffi, Dominik Greif, and Lucas Chevalier. Chevalier’s tally is particularly impressive given it came in just 17 appearances.

The luckiest goalkeepers

Jonathan Fischer also tops the ranking for shots hitting the woodwork—having been “saved” 12 times by his posts this season.

Hervé Koffi, Brice Samba, and Mory Diaw follow closely, each benefiting from 11 such moments.

Penalty specialists

Finally, 15 goalkeepers have saved at least one penalty this season.

The leaders in this category—with two penalties saved each—are Dominik Greif, Hervé Koffi, Robin Risser, and Yehvann Diouf.
